I am broadly interested in quantitative trait evolution. In particular, my research focuses on examining the genetic basis of adaptation to the environment. As a graduate student, I led several projects aimed at understanding how human populations adapted to various environmental factors using candidate gene and genomic approaches (dbCline). More recent work has focused on identifying the genetic variants underlying adaptation in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana (Climate Genome Scan). My current work builds on this previous research. Ongoing projects aim to clarify the role of rare variants in adaptation, to examine how adaptation occurs in systems of interacting genes, and to better understand specific cases of adaptation using modeling and experimental approaches. |
