What signals does local adaptation leave in the genome?
We exemplify Swedish A. thaliana to look for signs of local selective sweeps.

How to obtain good population genetic estimators from Next Generation Sequencing data?
Learning about demography and selection often does not require perfect SNP-calls, but knowledge about uncertainties.

Mutation rate variation and how to deal with it?
In evolutionary research we often make the assumption that mutation rates do not change. Here, we develop methods to understand and quantify mutation rate variation better and also to correct for it if need be.

Modelling sex biased demographies.
Comparisons of X- and Autosmes contain information about mating systems and sex-biased migration. However, inference about these life history traits is complicated by sex-biased mutation and demography.

The dynamics between epigenetic modification, mutation and selection.
DNA-methylation is interesting in that it provides a natural means in linking functional changes (DNA-methylation prevents transcription) and mutation rates (methylated Cs have an elevated mutation rate).
