Research interests

My general research interests are theoretical evolutionary biology, population genetics, and adaptive dynamics.

Specifically, my current research is on speciation models. In my diploma thesis, I worked on the influence of different genetic architectures on the evolution of assortative mating in a model of sympatric speciation. Currently, I am working on a speciation model with population structure, in which different modes and mechanisms of speciation can be compared directly. I focus on adaptive speciation through resource competition in parapatry, but will also consider other scenarios.

I am doing my PhD in a collaboration between MaBS and at the Evolution and Ecology Program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Laxenburg.
