Research Interests

My curiosity in understanding the unifying nature of the living and nonliving systems led me towards the interdisciplinary study. I explore a problem in nature by qualitative thinking and try to solve it using the knowledge of the quantitative methods. In particular, my research work focuses on the theoretical investigation of a biological system. I build a mathematical model of a problem in biology and address it using mathematical tools and computer simulations. My recent research is in population genetics where I have explored the adaptation of a trait under environmental challenges and investigated the evolutionary dynamics of both monogenic and polygenic traits. I have also studied the effects of environmental and demographic fluctuations in the adaptation process of both asexual and sexual populations. My goal is to carry on my research in investigating biological phenomena using mathematical and computational approaches.
